Can you catch a Shiny Popplio in Pokemon Go? Here's the answer.

Popplio is the last of the Alolan starters to have a Spotlight Hour event in March 2023. With the increased encounter rate during the event, many are wondering if Shiny Popplio is in Pokemon GO and if it can be caught. Here’s the answer.

Can You Catch a Shiny Popplio in Pokemon GO?

Unfortunately, Shiny Popplio has not been introduced to Pokemon GO yet. Like other starter Pokemon, it will most likely get a Shiny version during Community Day. With the current Community Day events just hitting Kalos starters and the next Community Day focusing on Togetic, it may be a while before that happens.

Even though you cannot catch a Shiny Popplio, Primarina is one of the stronger 3rd stage evolutions to use in Pokemon GO battles as it can learn Hydro Pump. Catching the best Popplio will be much easier during the Spotlight Hour. If you are working on any water Pokemon challenges, it may be worth it to seek out Popplio during these times since it’s a water type.

Other Shiny Pokemon are available through other events. These include Meltan, and potential Shiny Shadow Pokemon rescued from Team GO Rocket Grunts. The 12km Strange Eggs are still being rewarded from the Team GO Rocket Takeover event. With April just around the corner, the new schedule for Spotlight Hour is almost upon us. Stay tuned for more news, event help and general tips for Pokemon GO.
