Die in 100 Ways: How to unlock the second area without spending money

Unlocking the second area takes some effort, but you don't have to manually get 30,000 points to do it.

You’re not the only one who noticed the similarities between Dumb Ways to Die and Die in 100 Ways, and you definitely won’t be the last. The biggest way Die in 100 Ways differentiates itself from the former is its unlock system — the second biggest way lies in how difficult it gets.

Let’s face it: Die in 100 Ways is really hard. It is. Once you get around the 3000 point mark in the first area, the game gets crazy fast, and you’re dead unless you are super on-point.

You need to get a score above 30,000 to unlock the second area. How can you do that if it’s so hard to even get to 10,000 points? Well, by making good use of those gold coins you get for achievements, practice, and luck.

Practice makes perfect! But sometimes you’re just going to run into some bad luck and get a minigame that’s too unforgiving. Some minigames are less forgiving than others, especially as things speed up. Sometimes you’re going to get lucky and sometimes you’re not. There’s not much you can do about that.

How to unlock the second area without spending a cent

Yes, unlocking the second area is a chore. Yes, it’s going to take some time. And yes, there is a way to make it a little easier.

First and foremost is practice. Just play the game a lot, perfect your movements and get used to the minigames presented. No matter what, you’re going to have to practice. This method makes unlocking the next area easier, not easy.

Let’s say you’ve been at it for a week or so and you’re regularly pushing your score above 10,000 without paying coins to continue. 10,000 is still a long way from 30,000 — but it is possible to triple that 10k and make it a 30k.

The first thing you need is a double score multiplier. This can be bought in the shop for 20 gold coins. If you’re a smart cookie, you saved that double score multiplier the game gives you early on for an achievement. If you used it, well.. it’s time to visit the shop.

Die in 100 Ways score cheat

If you get above 10,000 regularly, you can effectively double that to over 20,000. That means you’re almost there! But almost doesn’t cut it, and you’re going to need to push it that extra bit. This is where those gold coins you’ve been saving up come in handy.

If you use the double score multiplier and get above 20,000 points, you absolutely should use 30 gold coins to continue and try to reach for the coveted 30,000.

With luck (and skill), you should be able to hit 30k using this method. This is why holding onto your coins is important. Do not ever use your coins to continue unless you are aiming for a goal. You don’t get a ton of them and you’re going to need them to progress in unlocking new areas.

Hopefully, this helps you progress in Die in 100 Ways. You are going to have to grind and practice, but in the end you get even more fun minigames. Hard work pays off!
