Like most survival games, there is no limit to enemies in Nordic Ashes: Survivors of Ragnarok. You’ll take plenty of damage, but there are some ways to protect yourself against it and use it to your advantage, such as Green Hearts. Here’s how to get them.
How to Gain Green Hearts in Nordic Ashes
The hearts in Nordic Ashes represent your health. Red is the base color that can get damaged by any enemy attacks. Blue and Green hearts, however, have some other special effects. The Green Hearts can drop XP when broken, allowing you to level up faster.
Green Hearts can be gained by picking up Emerald Potions. You’ll need to meet a few prerequisites before finding these green potions up for grabs. Here’s how to unlock the potions:
- Small Green/Emerald Potion: Slay 3,500 bush creatures in Alfheim
- Green/Emerald Potion: Slay 10,000 bush creatures in Alfheim
Once you unlock the Emerald Potions, you can find them in two different ways while you’re playing. They are harder to get than the other potions, but keep trying these methods, and you’ll find them.
Crates
While you’re in the middle of a round, you’ll notice a lot of crates around the map. The Emerald Potions can fall randomly from these crates, so you’ll want to break any of them you come across. You can break them using your weapons, just like how you eliminate enemies. Faster attacks will break them more easily.
Store
The other way you can get Emerald Potions is to purchase them from the store. You can visit the store after successfully surviving all the waves of the round and defeating the boss. There will be three rewards you purchase on the pedestals. The far left pedestal will always have a potion. You can buy it there for five gold. If it’s not there, you can re-roll the shop (once it’s upgraded) for another chance.
