The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC continues with the Mochi Mayhem Epilogue. Considering it’s likely the final chapter of the expansion and takes us back to Kitakami, you’ll want to jump right into it. Here’s how to start the Epilogue DLC in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet.

How to Begin the Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Mochi Mayhem Epilogue

Take the following steps to start the Mochi Mayhem Epilogue in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet.

  • Complete both parts of the DLC, including The Teal Mask and The Indigo Disk.
  • Win the Academy Ace Tournament back in Paldea.
  • Claim the Mythical Pecha Berry as a Mystery Gift.

Once you’ve checked each task off your to-do list, fly to the Community Center in Mossui Town, which is located in Kitakami. From there, visit Peachy’s shop in town. This is the stall found just to the right of the Fly point.

On the shop’s counter, you’ll see a small purple plushie sitting atop a pillow. Prior to the release of the Epilogue, players speculated about the significance of this item, which resembles the Mythical Pokemon Pecharunt. By interacting with it, you’ll trigger the start of the Epilogue’s events.

This begins with a call from your old pal, Arven, who asks you to meet him back at your house in Paldea. Of course, the mysterious shop item also seems to disappear in the meantime.

Why Won’t the Epilogue Event Start?

After a failed attempt to begin the Epilogue, I found that you’ll specifically need to approach the Pokemon’s likeness at the counter and press A.

Simply speaking with the shop owner alone won’t trigger the event. If you have further issues starting the new chapter, I recommend updating your game to the latest version.

How to Get the Mythical Pecha Berry

The Mythical Pecha Berry can now be obtained as a Mystery Gift in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet. If you’re not familiar with how to claim these gifts, the process is rather simple.

  1. Press the X button to open your main menu.
  2. Enter the Poke Portal.
  3. Select Mystery Gift from the options listed.
  4. Choose the Get via Internet option.

If you don’t have a Nintendo Switch Online membership, don’t worry. Unfortunately, I’ve missed out on several events just to learn that a paid subscription isn’t required to receive your gift. Learn from my mistake, and be sure to claim what’s available.

After a moment of searching, your Mythical Pecha Berry will arrive in a gift box. The item will go straight to your bag, ready for you to access the next time you launch Scarlet or Violet.

That’s how to start the Mochi Mayhem Epilogue DLC. Visit our Scarlet and Violet guides hub for more tips, tricks, walkthroughs, and everything else!
