We have every reason to believe that Ganondorf will appear in Tears of the Kingdom, likely taking on a highly significant role in the upcoming Breath of the Wild sequel.

Ganondorf has appeared throughout The Tears of the Kingdom trailers released so far, essentially solidifying his place in the story. While the details surrounding the extent of his role aren’t entirely clear, it seems that Ganondorf will play a huge part in the attempted destruction of Hyrule, evidenced by the particularly threatening form we saw him take on in the third trailer for the game.

However, Ganondorf’s presence in Tears of the Kingdom has also been confirmed by the character’s voice actor, Matthew Mercer, who recently announced in a tweet his “immense honor” to voice the villain in the new title.

This announcement came alongside Nintendo’s release of official artwork for Tears of the Kingdom, which featured a design upgrade for Ganondorf, among other fan-favorite characters. Although, the fan response largely swayed in favor of the returning villain, whose design is certainly more manicured, to say the least.

With that, it’s safe to say we’ll be seeing a lot more of Ganondorf in Tears of the Kingdom when it launches in less than a month. May 12 can’t arrive fast enough for long-time fans who are excited to take on the infamous villain once again. Look for more updates on The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom here at GameSkinny.
