P3 has seen a few improved ports over the past two decades, with the latest releasing on as many platforms as Persona 5 Royal. So, is Persona 3 Reload on Nintendo Switch along with the rest? Let’s talk about which platforms you can play on.
Can I Play Persona 3 Reload on Nintendo Switch?
Unfortunately, you can’t play Persona 3 Reload on the Switch. The game is not currently on Nintendo’s handheld console hybrid.
Persona 3 Reload Platform Details: What Platforms is it on?
P3R brings with it new content and visual improvements over its previous iterations Portable and FES, but it’s the most accessible entry to date. The game is on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, and even PC.
Developer Atlus stated that P3R wasn’t released on Nintendo Switch due to “hardware limitations.” This could possibly mean Persona 3 Reload would see too much slowdown on the platform, as we’ve seen with numerous Switch ports over the past few years. That might be hard to believe since it’s a remaster of a PlayStation 2 game, but the Nintendo Switch port of Persona 5 Royal saw some considerable graphical downgrades and lower FPS compared to other platforms (including the PS3).
Will P3R be on Nintendo Switch in the Future?
Though Persona 3 Reload isn’t on Nintendo Switch now, doesn’t mean we won’t see a Switch release for P3R sometime in the future. Atlus may need to implement some additional optimization so the game runs smoothly on the platform. It’s also possible they might hold onto it for the next Nintendo platform. Rumors are building that Nintendo might reveal their new hardware in the first quarter of this year. It’s not outside the realm of possibility that Atlus is waiting for this new hardware.
For the time being, Persona 3 Reload isn’t on Nintendo Switch. At least it’s on plenty of other platforms, including PC and even Xbox Game Pass. We’ll have to wait for more details on whether Atlus intends to bring this newest version of P3 to a Nintendo platform.
