Moonstone Island: How to Get Moonstone

There are many resources to discover in Moonstone Island, one of which takes after its name — Moonstone. However, this elusive resource is tricky to find, especially when you’re new to the game. Here’s our complete guide on how to get Moonstone in Moonstone Island.

How to Get Moonstone in Moonstone Island

You’ll be tasked with acquiring a Moonstone early on in the game, but you’ll receive no hints on where to find it or how to get it. In addition to being a quest item, you’ll need Moonstones for some essential crafting recipes. So, where can you find the mysterious gemstone? Well, after traversing a few floating islands, I discovered that Moonstones are blue gemstones that hide behind tall grass.

You’ll need to equip your Scythe and harvest Fibre to find Moonstone. If this sounds like a monotonous task, you’ll be happy to hear that Moonstones glow in the grass at night, making it much easier to spot one. There’s a chance to find Moonstones in mine chests. However, the most guaranteed way to find one is on the surface in the grass.

You can only find one Moonstone per floating island, so you’ll want to craft a Balloon and get to exploring as soon as you can. However, the starting island will have 2-3 Moonstones to get you started.

Unfortunately, the game won’t tell you if you’ve already looted an island’s moonstone, so you’ll need to keep a mental tally on your own. Thankfully, Moonstones will respawn every season. So, you’ll have a chance to go back to previously looted locations for another one once per season.
