Elemental Personality Types in Palia Explained

There are four elements that play a role in the personalities of the Majiri.

  • Air: “Air-type personalities are laid back and free spirited. They never take themselves or others too seriously.”
    • They’re often more open-minded people
  • Earth: “Earth-type personalities are stubborn, practical, and honest — often to a fault.”
  • Fire: “Fire-type personalities are friendly, brave, and easily excitable. Natural Born leaders.”
    • They exhibit a lot of energy.
  • Water: “Water-type personalities are thoughtful, introspective, and emotionally sensitive. While intelligent, they often tend towards melancholy.”
    • They can get flustered easily and tend to avoid confrontation

Each villager has their own set type that dictates portions of their actions. Auni, a fire personality, asks a lot of questions and is always on the go. Kenli, a water personality, avoids confrontation as much as he can.

When speaking with the citizens of Kilima Village, you get to pick conversation options that represent the elements. Depending on the person you’re speaking with, you can get different responses. If you pick the same element all the time, you’ll start seeing people react different to you. Tish is the best example of this, often comparing you to herself if you’re a fire type or others in the village that match what you frequently select.

As the player, you get to flip flop between types instead of being locked into one. This changes the more you pick a different element over the one you currently are. I tend to cycle through Fire and Water responses, so those are the two elements Tish brings up to me the most.
