Both the Crystal Marble puzzle and the accompanying padlock puzzle are new additions to the Resident Evil 4 Remake. The former is similar in nature to the orb puzzle from the original game, but you’ll need the Padlock combination to get the marble itself.

How to Solve the Padlock Puzzle for the Crystal Marble

On your way to the lake, you’ll come to a house that has two floors. Go to the second floor to find a door with a circular indentation in it across the hall from a typewriter on the second floor. This is where you’ll find a note titled Illuminados 4:3.
Head back down to the first floor, where you’ll find a wardrobe with a padlock on it. On the padlock, there are three slots with rotating symbols that must be matched up. Before you do the puzzle, read the note you just picked up for the solution. Choose the following:
- Crop
- Pig
- Baby
Set the padlock to the corresponding symbols to open up the wardrobe and get the Crystal Marble. Now, run back upstairs to use it on the door with the circular indentation.
How to Solve the Crystal Ball Puzzle

We recommend doing the Crystal Ball puzzle in phases. First, get your marbles to align.
- By spinning the crystal (using the left stick), you can concentrate the particles.
- By rotating the orb (using RB/R1), you can get it to appear as a two-dimensional image.
Spin the Crystal Ball by pushing the left control stick for a few seconds until you have a concentration of particles that roughly looks like an upside-down version of the symbol. Spin the crystal to the left to concentrate these marbles into a tighter formation.
Once the symbol has been formed, rotate the puzzle 180 degrees either way, and the image will slot into place once they overlap. If it doesn’t, you can try wiggling the stick both left and right to slightly adjust your image and solve it.
