How to Unlock All Characters in RE4 Remake Mercenaries Mode

Unlocking all of the characters in RE4‘s Mercenaries mode is fairly straightforward and only requires that you clear stages with a specific ranking.

  • Leon S. Kennedy: unlocked at the start.
  • Luis Serra: achieve A-rank with Leon on any stage.
  • Jack Krauser: achieve A-rank with Luis on any stage.
  • Hunk: achieve A-rank with Krauser on any stage.

How to Get A-Rank on Each Stage in Mercenaries Mode

Getting A-rank to unlock all characters in Mercenaries mode means getting at least 100,000 points on a stage. That may sound hard, but there are some tricks to it.

Mercenaries mode is all about racking up points quickly and efficiently. You play as one of the available characters above, each of which has a unique ability that can help take out wave after wave across different maps.

You’ll want to get high combos while using each character’s Mayhem ability to boost your score — and kill every enemy on each stage while doing it.

Each of the playable characters in Mercenaries is good at different things:

  • Leon’s an all-arounder
  • Luis excels at a distance
  • Krauser dominates at close range
  • Hunk, who only has one gun, can activate Mayhem mode to get infinite ammo and has a melee attack that kills in a single hit.

Choosing the right stage to complement each character’s abilities and your own playstyle is a must, and will make your life a lot easier. Be sure to experiment if you’re having trouble, and read our Mercenaries Stages guide for additional tips.

And that’s all there is when it comes to unlocking all of the characters in Resident Evil 4 Remake‘s Mercenaries mode. For more on Resident Evil 4 Remake, be sure to check out our guides hub.
