The Shin Megami Tensei 3 Amala Network labyrinth throws you for a loop early in the game. It’s a multi-floor dungeon full of false turns that warp you back to where you started, which is annoying on its own and doubly frustrating with the high SMT 3 encounter rate.

If you have the SMT 3 DLC, the best way to make it through the Amala Network is to use Merciful mode. Even with the right route mapped out, the number of enemies you’ll encounter and the paltry experience rewards you get on normal just aren’t worth it. It’s a tedious dungeon, and unfortunately, there’s no way to skip the cutscenes showing the doors.

Either way, these images show the map for all three floors. The dead-end branches warp you back to the start of the room. Some contain treasure, but nothing essential. Your goal is the round rooms with the exclamation marks, where Hijiri can redirect the Magatsuhi flow to open pathways again.

You’ll run into a few mini-bosses along the way, including a mass of spectre demons, but they’re nothing too difficult to handle. A demon with Rakunda or Force skills is handy for dealing with the earth spirit demons you’ll regularly run into, but as always, just make sure you have Medicine on hand and at least one demon with Dia.

At the end of the Amala Network, you’ll drop into the Amala Labyrinth, which is a separate thing entirely. The only thing to do for now is to look through the peephole and watch the scene that unfolds. If you want the True Demon ending, you’ll be back here again once you start defeating the major Fiends.

That’s it for our Shin Megami Tensei 3 Amala Network guide, but check out our other Shin Megami Tensei 3 guides for more help guiding the world toward rebirth.
