How to Get Korok Seeds in TotK

Korok Seeds are a currency rewarding to you when you help a Korok through completing a simple puzzle, or by finding where they’re hiding in some cases.

I found my first Korok in the Sky while traveling between the shrines that give you Link’s new abilities. After helping them cross to a nearby island and reunite with their friend, I was rewarded with a Korok Seed. In another case, I received a Korok Seed simply for interacting with a lily pad and finding the Korok that was hidden in it. So the tasks are generally quick and easy.

Just like in Breath of the Wild, Korok Seeds are turned into Hestu for rewards, namely expansions for your inventory. This means that your next task is going to be finding Hestu to start earning your rewards.

You’ll first find Hestu to the northwest of Lookout Landing, as marked on the map below.

When you find Hestu, he’s in a panic and will keep repeating that the nearby trees are scary. If you go to the trees, they’ll start moving and attack you. Defeat the trees, and you can interact with Hestu.

If you have Korok Seeds, you can exchange them for upgrades right away. Afterward, Hestu will tell you that he’s heading east next so that you can find him easier the next time you need to trade in Korok Seeds.

Those are the basics of what you need to know about how to get Korok Seeds and how to use them. Check out more of our Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom guides like our early game gear list.
