To make TotK elixirs, you’ll first need to find the ingredients and a cooking pot. You can find cooking pots in the wild or make the one-time-use Zonai portable pot. There’s also one in the Emergency Shelter in Lookout Landing.

Once you start cooking, there’s one thing you need to know about how ingredients combine to make elixirs.

To actually make Tears of the Kingdom elixirs, you’ll need:

  • At least one monster part.
  • One bug.

You can then combine them the same way you would another recipe for any food item.

By mixing various bugs and monster parts together, you’ll get a vast variety of results that take on the effect of whichever bug you put in it. These TotK elixirs can be buffed with mushrooms and other edible items to restore hearts on top of the intended effect of the potion.

Once you’ve created an elixir, you can now always go back and view its recipe. The addition of recipe history to Tears of the Kingdom makes it easy to recreate your most useful concoctions.

Over the course of the game, you’ll find lots of monster parts from enemies that you kill, such as Keese, Moblins, and Bokoblins. Insects like fireflies and frogs can be found hopping around in the wild, although some require a stealthy approach to catch.

That’s how to make elixirs in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. If you want to learn more about Tears of the Kingdom, look no further than our comprehensive TotK guide hub for tips and walkthroughs.
