Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (TotK) — Where to Find and Farm Luminous Stone

Here's where to find Luminous Stone in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Luminous Stone is a valuable item that can be used to upgrade pieces of armor in the Awakening and Radiant sets, sold for Rupees, and more. It’s a rare and unique ore that glows at night. It’s also said to contain the souls of the dead. Of course, it’s not easy to acquire, and you may be wondering how to get it. Instead of stumbling around in the dark, here’s where to find TotK Luminous Stones.

Luminous Stones are found throughout the caves and rocky regions in Hyrule. They’re also dropped by Luminous Stone Talus. However, that doesn’t mean they’re easy to come by. In fact, they’re some of the rarest gems in Tears of the Kingdom — unless you know where to look.

And you’ll want to since they’re used to upgrade certain important armors and can be sold for 20 Rupees each. Personally, I found myself running out of Luminous Stone quickly when feeding Dondons. In need of a new stash, I uncovered the best place to farm these items in the Sky Islands.

To farm TotK Luminous Stone, you’ll want to head to North Necluda Sky Archipelago (1816, -1125, 0923), located east of the Great Sky Island. Its exact location is marked on my in-game map image above.

Here, you’ll find a small island that’s loaded with mining nodes, many of which contain Luminous Stone. I managed to find 15 of them in just one run, making this farming spot well worth the effort.

To get up to the Luminous Stone mining spot, you’ll want to rotate the launch platform in the center of the island, as shown in the image above. Then, simply hop on it, wait for it to launch you, and glide over to the island. You’ll find plenty of mining nodes and a treasure chest containing Sage’s Will.

After depleting the nodes, you’ll need to wait for a Blood Moon cycle for them to reappear. I suggest that you unlock Josiu Shrine (1760, -1207, 0924) while you’re there for an easy return.
