It'll be a While Before We See a Trailer for the Mortal Kombat Movie

The Mortal Kombat 2021 movie suffers a COVID-related delay, but the virus hasn't dealt a finishing blow to the film.

The Mortal Kombat (2021) movie is delayed until further notice, Todd Garner, one of the film's producers, said on Twitter.

COVID-19 interfered with the production team's plans for re-shooting scenes. The original plan was top have work finished by March. Now, though, Garner said it's likely there won't be an anticipated release date for the film or even a trailer until after theaters re-open.

Currently, there's no telling when that might be. Meanwhile, the new Mortal Kombat movie remains suspended in post-production, according to iMDB.

When it does release, the Mortal Kombat movie will feature classic characters from the storied series, including Sub-Zero, Mileena (who also features in the upcoming Ultimate expansion), and Sonya Blade.
