The Town of Salem Kickstarter raises over $340k for the card game version.

You may be familiar with Town of Salem, the popular online game of murder and deception by Blank Media Games. The game has sponsored many popular Let’s Players, such as Markiplier, Jacksepticeye, PewDiePie, and Cryaotic, to promote the Kickstarter for the Town of Salem card game.

About the Kickstarter

The Kickstarter launched on April 26, 2016. It reached its $10k goal in about an hour and a half, and raised $100k on its first day. Since then, the project has currently raised over $340k and ends on May 26, 2016.

All tiers of the project give the backers a copy of the card game, as well as bonus digital rewards for the online version of the game.

About the Card Game

The card game will include a 40 cards, consisting of 11 unique town roles, 5 unique mafia roles, and 6 neutral roles.

The game plays similar to the popular party game of Mafia and Werewolf. Each player is given a random role, and each role has a unique ability that allows the player to either investigate, kill, or protect other players. The town can put suspicious players on trial and vote to eliminate them.

While the mafia knows which players are on their team, the townspeople do not. The townspeople must eliminate the evil roles to win, and the evil roles must eliminate all the townspeople to win.

The Kickstarter ends in a few days. If you’re interested in supporting it, check it out here!
