How to Get Into Blizzard's Overwatch Beta
For updated info on how to get into the Overwatch beta and more, click here.
Blizzard dropped a bombshell on us last Friday, announcing their first all new IP in 17 years, Overwatch. Overwatch is a first-person objective-based shooter. With this announcement comes the question, "how do I get in to the Beta Test?"
Opt-In:
This is the only way to put your name in the prospective Beta Tester pool at the moment!
To opt-in: log into your Battle.net account and visit the Overwatch page. Both at the top and at the bottom of the Overwatch page is a Beta Sign Up button, click that and confirm you want to sign up for the Beta on the following page.
This will let Blizzard know that you are interested in playing the Overwatch Beta. If you follow the steps properly it will take you to the Beta Profile Settings page of your account details and Future Beta will be selected. For visual representation take a look at the images below.
Watch For Updates:
As information comes out surrounding the Overwatch Beta this page will be updated accordingly. You can also follow Overwatch on Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube.
Other Sources for Overwatch:
Here are other outlets in which you can read about Overwatch and hold discussions about it. Keep in mind that GameSkinny does not endorse any of these sources (this list will be updated as more fan-based resource sites appear).
- Overwatch subreddit
- Overwatch Core - Fan community Twitter (Website comming soon.)
- OWKING - ZAM's Overwatch site.
- Overwatch Tips: Twitter and Website
- Overwatch Community forums

Jody_4655February 18, 2016, 1:23 amRetarded! I have applied to every beta since the beginning of the opt-in and have not been given access to a single one. They only give you a key if you can advertise for them (ie: stream). I get the reasoning behind this, but why not let people with normal setups join too? They only want the advertisement, not feedback. Sure, they get feedback from the streamers, but most streamers have setups built for intense gaming, which won't be the majority of players.

Everything you have just said is inaccurate. I just got a key when they brought the beta back up recently, and I've been signed up since the first minute the website was live. It's random.

FoonusNovember 24, 2015, 4:27 pmApplied over a year ago when it was announced in 2014, still no access after owning every blizzard game released in the past 12 years. Now they offer pre-purchase for the game and EVEN THERE, they give no BETA ACCESS. Guess you needed to be a sellout streamer and advertising for them in order to get beta access.
-
no, it's not about being a "sell out" they gave access to people that are well known streamers. They'll continue adding more people I assume, but there doesn't seem to be any schedule announced on that yet.

oscar_3104October 24, 2015, 4:28 amit says that I'm signed up when I press on beta does that mean that I have beta access???
-
I don't know anymore about the selection process than anyone else. If you're signed up, that is as much as you can do. Whether you actually get access still resides with Blizzard alone.

Glaze_2835January 1, 2015, 4:25 pmIf you sing up for the beta on the Overwatch website, will you still get into the beta? I signed up there instead of Battle.net, but I'm wondering if it still is an official beta sign-up on their website.

it's the same process, you're just logging in in a different order.
