Shovel Knight amiibo leaked by deleted UK retailer tweet

There will be a Shovel Knight amiibo, according to a since deleted tweet by UK retailer GAME.

It should be noted that this amiibo definitely looks legit, and nothing like some fan-made designs. 

As the tweet from GAME stated before its deletion, the Shovel Knight amiibo will be compatible with Shovel Knight for Wii U and 3DS, among other Nintendo games.

Additionally, the post states that the amiibo will work with products that Yacht Club Games will create in the future. 

Perhaps the most interesting question that this amiibo poses is this: does this mean that Shovel Knight will be coming to Super Smash Bros. Wii U/3DS?

If you ask me, I feel that this is a good sign for those who want to see the beloved shovel warrior in Smash Bros. The post says "future" products, so perhaps this could mean a Shovel Knight 2 as well.

While a true sequel may be far off, Shovel Knight will be getting the Plague of Shadows expansion, featuring none other than Plague Knight. This expansion is expected to arrive sometime in 2015.
