Baldur's Gate 3 Conjures Up a Date For Summer 2023

Larian Studios will be bringing its award-winning CRPG to PC and PS5 near the end of summer.

Larian Studios' hotly anticipated CRPG Baldur's Gate 3 finally has a solid release date. Scheduled to release for PC and PS5 on August 31, 2023, we saw a brief trailer for the game during Sony's "State of Play" stream. One of the new features shown off was split-screen multiplayer for the game's campaign mode, which may possibly be limited to Sony's platform.

The dev team is also pulling out the stops when it comes to casting for its villains. The electrifying J.K. Simmons of Spider-Man and Whiplash fame will be voicing General Ketheric Thorm, one of the three main antagonists of Baldur's Gate 3. A man with complex ambitions and motivations, Thorm is likely to become a villain we'll remember for years and years.

In terms of physical versions, Larian has revealed a Deluxe and Collector's Edition bundle for both PC and PS5. You can currently pre-order it on Larian's website. Both versions will include 72-hour early access to Act 1 of the main game along with a plethora of goodies.
