Minh Le, Co-Creator of Counter Strike, has hinted that work is being done on Half Life 3 in a Twitch.tv interview. He mentioned that he has seen concept art and knows work has begun, but he doesn’t see it as big news just yet.
…I think it’s kind of public knowledge, that people know that it is being worked on. And so if I were to say that yeah, I’ve seen some images, like some concept art of it, that wouldn’t be big news to be honest.
Left 4 Dead 3 has seen plenty of rumors flying around from a potential countdown site that ends on August 21st to cryptic emails. Min Le says he has seen it and “it looks great.”
I saw it, it looks great. I was really excited when I saw that, I was like ‘wow, this looks great’. Because I really enjoyed Left 4 Dead, it was just one of those games that really just changed the industry. I think at the time there wasn’t many good co-op games, so yeah, this is a great co-op game.
Valve still has yet to confirm any of this news, but the evidence keeps growing. Although the brand has been known for hoaxes, there seems to be enough info around to know that work is being done and an announcement shouldn’t be too far down the road. Perhaps something at E3 in a few weeks?
