This took me a really long time to do, but I have finally decided my top 5 favorite games of all time. When you’re done reading this, I would love to hear from you. What are your favorite games? Let me know!
5: Gears of War: This game is easily the best third person shooter ever made. Its brilliant cover system and variety of weapons (seriously, the lancer has a chainsaw bayonet) combined with a variety of spectacular set pieces and gorgeous graphics make it one of the best games ever created.
4: The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings: The Witcher 2 is one of the greatest fantasy role-playing games ever made because it doesn’t hold your hand. It gives you the tools to meet your goals, and says do it. The Deep political storyline is also one of the best in the industry, and the brilliant soundtrack pulls you into the world of Temaria.
3: Mass Effect 2: Mass Effect 2 earns my number 3 spot for its galaxy spanning storyline of war and romance, its fantastic gameplay, and most of all, the fantasticlly written characters.
2: Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. Bioware took the Star Wars universe and combined it with their genius storytelling to create a masterpiece of a game. To this day, I still consider this game to have the biggest plot twist ever. Add in the addicting progression system, tactical combat, and great character development, this truly is a masterpiece.
1: Dark Souls. From Software’s brutal and beautiful action RPG is my favorite game of all time for several reasons, but mainly, it’s just because it is damn fun to play. The game rewards skill and patience and its story is brilliant for those who seek it out. The epic bosses, fantastic pvp, and deep combat system come together to craft an unforgettable and truly unique experience. No game is quite like it, and no game is quite as good.
