LEGO Dimensions decides Batman and Gandalf aren't enough, adds Portal 2

If you're already shelling out cash for LEGO Dimensions, you might as well shell out more for the fun DLC. And by fun DLC I mean the Portal 2 level pack.

We live in a beautiful world where LEGO versions of Batman, Gandalf, and Chell can team up to complete puzzles in Aperture Labs. It's a conglomerate of brands that feels more like fun than a result of careful corporate contracts. The Portal 2 franchise has joined LEGO Dimensions with the Portal 2 Level Pack, which comes complete with a Chell, Portal Gun, Companion Cube, and Sentry turret. The Companion Cube can be configured into a Laser Deflector or Gold Heart Emitter, and the Sentry Turret can become a Turret Striker or Flying Turret Carrier.

LEGO Dimensions, which is basically Skylanders with classic nerdy brands, is out in stores for North America. The (relatively expensive) base game features Batman from DC Comics, Gandalf from The Lord of the Rings, and Wyldstyle from The LEGO Movie. For a list of the current add-ons and what LEGO Dimensions features, you can read all about it here. It's a solid start and introduction to the worlds of the LEGO Multiverse, but it's also entertaining to speculate on what the inevitable brand add-ons will be.

An innovative and humorous game world is something that fits perfectly within the realms of LEGO. The Portal 2 level pack is already out on their official website, where there's also a nice video to show you elements of the level's gameplay.
