After almost a month of testing, Blizzard has planned to take the Overwatch closed beta offline. The beta will be taken down on December 18 and will be back again somewhere towards the end of January next year.

In a blog posted on Battle.net, Blizzard notes that over 900,000 matches were played during the testing period, which has provided the company with invaluable feedback. The extended break, according to the blog, is to take in the feedback from the beta players and imply them to the game’s development. The break will start December 10 9:00 A.M P.S.T.

“Now it’s time to analyze the data we have, dig into your feedback even further, and put that knowledge to use as best we can. To accomplish this, we will be bringing the Overwatch Closed Beta offline for an extended break”, post reads.

In a small FAQ section in the post, it was also noted that the beta would not see any more players from now on till the break starts, however once it goes live again in January next year more players would be invited to the closed beta. Also, all players who have access to the Closed Beta now will also have access when it comes back online in January.

In an announcement last month, Blizzard announced that Overwatch would be coming not only for PC but also for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Overwatch would also not be a free-to-play game as expected by many. The game is expected to arrive in the first or the second quarter of next year.
