Bungie Forces Server Queues; Rise of Iron Players Turn Twitter into a Salt Mine

The wailing of disappointed fans can be heard for miles around.

The highly anticipated Rise of Iron DLC released for Destiny earlier today. And as expected, eager fans flocked to their consoles to sink their teeth into more FPS goodness. But when they started their games, there was one big problem: the servers are totally overloaded.

So many people have tried to access the game following the Rise of Iron launch that Bungie has temporarily implemented a queue to keep their servers from crashing completely. They announced the move on Twitter early this morning:

Needless to say, fans are very displeased. And they, too, have taken to Twitter to express their rage/disappointment/frustration/ill-wishes. Fortunately for the rest of us, their misery is kind of hilarious. Here are some of the best reactions we’ve seen so far: 

Hopefully Bungie will be able to sort out the overload soon. We don’t think Twitter is going to be able to take much more salt. But for now, incoming Guardians will have to wait in line with the rest of us. (Perhaps do a quick workout to channel the rage?)

The good news is that those fans who have made it into the DLC say it’s definitely worth the wait. Lucky them.
