We recently reported on some Resident Evil 8 rumors Aesthetic Gamer, a prominent Resident Evil leaker, posted on Twitter, and they’re at it again with some more details. According to the rumors (via Destructoid), Resident Evil 8 will release in 2021, be entirely first-person, and release on current- and next-gen platforms, including PS5.

Aesthetic Gamer also clarified some portions of earlier rumors, such as the game focusing on the occult and psychological horror. They said it’s a mix of styles. Some bits are straight-up ridiculous sounding, like facing off against witches or zombies who wear armor (zoinks!).

But Aesthetic Gamer says it’s just one example of leaked footage they’ve seen from the Ambassadors Program, which Capcom has used in the past to test new games. Other samples reportedly focus much more on the psychological aspect and take advantage of the first-person perspective. If so, then it definitely supports the previous claim this would be a big departure.

Aesthetic Gamer mentioned before that the information about Resident Evil 7 protagonist Ethan Winters might not be up to date, and they expanded on that as well. Ethan and Chris were, at one point, set as the game’s heroes. Now, it’s not clear whether they still play a prominent role or which hero you’ll control.

And as the above tweet shows, more information about Resident Evil 8 is allegedly set to break later this month from a different source. Stay tuned to GameSkinny for more Resident Evil 8 news as it develops.
