Fallout 4 releases in almost two months and fans are aching for any lick of information they can get from any source. In an almost déjà vu-like move that is reminiscent of their pre-launch attitude towards Skyrim, Bethesda has made a community post this morning detailing how they will support the game after its launch on November 10, 2015.
Bethesda plans to give their newest offering the “Skyrim treatment” with an abundance of additional free features as the game starts hitting its stride after launch. In the post, Bethesda laid out the details of these additional features.
“These will come with not just fixes, but new features. For Skyrim we added things like mounted combat, legendary mode, kill cams, visual enhancements and more. We’ll work with all of you to figure out what new things you’d love to see added to Fallout 4, whether they are small tweaks or new features.”
What PC gamers, specifically Steam users, are itching to know is the release date for the coveted Creation Kit that kept Skyrim’s gameplay fresh and new years after its release. Bethesda made it clear that excitement for the Creation Kit does not extend only towards PC players.
Popular mods will find their way to the console marketplaces
Downloadable content was the last piece of information given in the update. Obligatory horse armor jokes aside, it seems that Bethesda is passionate about their content support for Fallout 4 both in terms of free updates as well as paid content expansions.
“We’ve always done a lot of DLC for our games. We love making them and you always ask us for more. To reward our most loyal fans, this time we’ll be offering a Season Pass that will get you all of the Fallout 4 DLC we ever do for just $30. Since we’re still hard at work on the game, we don’t know what the actual DLC will be yet, but it will start coming early next year. Based on what we did for Oblivion, Fallout 3, and Skyrim, we know that it will be worth at least $40, and if we do more, you’ll get it all with the Season Pass.”
