A basic overview along with a few suggested builds for playing Tyrande in Heroes of the Storm.

In Heroes of the Storm, Tyrande is a ranged support. She has a kit that allows her to deal damage while healing her allies.

Tyrande is a great complement to most other heroes in lane. It would not make much sense for her to lane together with another support, but she would do well with a warrior, assassin, or specialist. Her heal allows her laning partner to get a bit risky when trying to get first blood.

This guide will break down into five categories:

  • Starter Abilities – The abilities your character starts with at the beginning of the match.
  • Heroic Abilities – Pick from one of these two ultimate-like abilities at team level 10
  • Talents – The character improvements you can choose from to custom build your hero
  • Talent Builds – Recommended builds that I have personally found success with
  • Playstyle Tips – Extra information about the character to help you play your best

  • Path of the Wizard: Get yourself some extra mana.

This build will let you support with your Q while dealing a ton of damage with your E and your R. This is perfect if you have another support on your team.

Tyrande Playstyle Tips

Lunar Flare Extraordinaire
  • Learning how to land your E is one of the biggest parts of learning to play Tyrande.
  • Try to anticipate where your enemy is going before dropping your E.
  • In team fights, try to hit multiple enemies with your E for maximum damage and stuns.
Healing Your Allies
  • Be sure to use your Q in team fights to keep your allies alive.
  • Try to focus the same target as your allies to take advantage of your Hunter’s Mark.
Placing Starfall
  • In most situations, you will want to place Starfall where the most enemy heroes are.
  • In some situation, you will want to use Starfall to trap enemy heroes or force them to run away.
  • Increase the effectiveness of your Starfall by landing a Lunar Flare on your opponent while s/he is inside of Starfall.
Maintaining Map Awareness
  • Sentinel is an invaluable skill.
  • When you have an idea of where your enemy is but do not know for certain, use your W.
  • When you are taking a merc camp and need to know if your enemy is nearby, use your W.
  • When you are entering a bush and do not know if it is safe, use your W.
  • In any situation like above, use your W.
