Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- Gets a December Release Date

The next iteration of Guilty Gear will burst its way onto Sony consoles December 16th.

In a post on the Playstation Blog, Aksys Games’ Director of Production Frank “Bo” DeWindt II announced that Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- and its limited edition set will be released on Tuesday, December 16th for PS3 and PS4, two weeks after the Japanese release.

DeWindt also boasts about the new characters being introduced into the series:

  • Bedman, a boy strapped into a killer bed
  • Ramlethal Valentine, the girl seen in the Arcade Opening declaring war on the world,
  • DLC character Elphelt, who DeWindt promises will bring whole new meaning to the term “Shotgun Wedding.”

Also appearing will be Sin Kiske, Ky Kiske’s son from Guilty Gear 2: Overture.

Guilty Gear is a franchise celebrated by its fans for its incredibly complex fighting system and its hard rock soundtracks. Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- will be the first fighting game of the series (Overture was a strategy game) to combine 2D and 3D elements to create what I consider one of the more beautiful visual styles out there.
