Hearthstone: Best Standard Decks for Ashes of Outland Meta

Burn Demon Hunter

This is a fast-paced Demon Hunter deck that focuses on early damage and a final lethal burst combo. It involves several new cards, such as Kayn Sunfury, Kael’thas Sunstrider, and some big burn spells, such as Metamorphosis and Inner Demon.

You need Kayn Sunfury to render all enemy Taunts useless, so you can go face with Inner Demon. But to make Inner Demon castable for free, you need Kael’thas Sunstrider.

Skull of Gul’dan and a few other cards will help you draw all the required pieces for your combo, so you can practically achieve the burn plan of this deck in every single match-up.

Spell Token Druid

The new Druid deck focuses on ramp, using cards like Overgrowth and Nourish, as well as spell synergies that will ultimately lead you to playing the deck’s finisher: King Phaoris.

The gameplan is simple: You try to ramp as quickly as possible using Innervate, then you cast your token and card draw spells until you get Ysera, Unleashed or King Phaoris.

On the side, you have enough removal spells and even some Taunt mechanics, such as Archspore Misshi’fn and Gift of the Wild, to be comfortable.

Deathrattle Hunter

Historically, Deathrattle Hunter archetype has been very successful. This time, the new iteration includes a powerful combo, which can be achieved by copying Zixor, Apex Predator‘s deathrattle with the help of cards like Mok’nathal Lion, Teron Gorefiend, and Nine Lives.

Zixor, Apex Predator puts a copy of Zixor Prime into your deck after it dies. With the help of all the cards mentioned above, you will have multiple copies of Zixor Prime. Then you can use buffs, such as Scavenger’s Ingenuity and Scrap Shot to make them even stronger.

In the end, you will have multiple copies of Zixor Prime buffed and ready to be summoned each turn. As you know, Zixor Prime makes three more copies of itself when played, so your opponents will need a lot of removal spells to be able to deal with them all.

Spell Mage

Although this deck is based almost entirely on spells, there are a lot of spells here that summon minions. Don’t think that you will have no minions on board, though. You will actually have quite a few with the help of cards like Learn Draconic, Netherwind Portal, Apexis Blast, Deep Freeze, and Power of Creation.

The most important card in the entire deck is Incanter’s Flow from Ashes of Outland. This two-mana spell reduces the cost of all your spells by 1 mana. This is a big deal, especially if you are preparing to play a legendary Evocation spell that fills your hand with more random spells.

Murloc Paladin

Murloc Paladin is back!

This fun archetype has been dead for some time due to a rotation of a few very important Murloc cards. But now it has new tools in the form of Murgur Murgurgle, which spawns a Murgur Prime legendary minion, and Felfin Navigator, which is basically another copy of the infamous Murloc Warleader card.

This list also includes Hand of A’dal, a new buff spell that also draws cards. The rest is the same old Murloc company, which many of you should be well familiar with if you’ve played this type of deck in the last couple of years.

Quest Buff Priest

This new priest deck focuses on the new Reliquary of Souls legendary card, which costs only 1 mana. When it dies, it puts a Reliquary Prime minion into your deck, which has Lifesteal and Taunt. It is immune to enemy spells and hero power.

The rest of the cards are designed to make a lot of copies of the Reliquary of Souls, such as Shadowy Figure, Teron Gorefiend, Wretched Reclaimer, Psychopomp, and Catrina Muerte.

Overall, if you manage to activate all these cards, you will have over a dozen copies of the Reliquary Prime minion in your deck, which is more than enough to win any game.

Stealthy Secret Rogue

As the name of the deck suggests, the two main mechanics of this archetype involve minions with stealth and secrets. This combination is extremely annoying for any opponent, as it will be really hard to react to any of your plays.

The best new secret in the deck is Bamboozle, which transforms any of your friendly minions being attacked into another one that costs 3 mana. Not a bad deal for only the cost of 2 mana.

But the mainstage is dedicated to Greyheart Sage, which draws you cards whenever you control a minion with stealth.

Totem Shaman

Shaman’s hero power is truly its main weapon. You will use it each and every turn because cards in this list mostly focus on buffing your totems.

Teron Gorefiend is a great example of a card that brings back all your totems with +1/+1 stats. You can use Totemic Might and Totemic Surge for 0 mana to make them even bigger.

The finishing touch is the old-but-gold combo of Bloodlust, which will serve as a finisher. If everything goes your way, this deck can finish things off on turn five or six.

Zoo Warlock

Zoolock decks have been pretty much the same in the last few years of Hearthstone. However, with the coming of Ashes of Outland, it finally has some new, fancy plays to show.

For example, try to ramp using two copies of Darkglare and tapping your hero power. Then use Maiev Shadowsong on Imprisoned Scrap Imp and buff all your minions twice as many times.

Lastly, try to discard Hand of Gul’dan using Soulfire, Expired Merchant or Nightshade Matron and draw three cards for free instead of paying the full 6 mana.

Galakrond Warrior

Warrior is probably the only class in the new meta that will not find a better way of winning than the Galakrond archetype.

The only other card that’s worth mentioning is Kargath Bladefist, which puts an incredibly powerful Kargath Prime legendary minion into your deck when it dies.

Kargath Prime is a huge 10/10 minion that grants you 10 extra points of armor each time it kills an enemy minion. This, in combination with Galakrond, the Unbreakable, will make up still one of the best control decks in the history of Hearthstone.
