It’s also important to keep Affinity in mind, as well.

Monster hunter Rise Best Weapons: S-Tier

Hidden Harmonic II

  • Type: Hunting Horn
  • Attack: 160
  • Affinity: 40%

Hunting horns are universally acclaimed as the best weapons in Monster Hunter Rise. But they are all very different, so choosing the best one can be tough.

Hidden Harmonic II is a truly unique hunting horn that has a natural white sharpness, which is something one simply cannot miss. It also has some of the best melodies you could get in the game, such as Stamina Recovery Up, Attack Up, and Affinity Up.

This weapon can be upgraded from Hidden Harmonic I, which originally can be obtained from the Nargacuga monster in the Shrine Ruins and Flooded Forest.

The crafting recipe for Hidden Harmonic II is the following:

  • 2x Rakna-Kadaki Sharpclaw
  • 2x Nargacuga Marrow
  • 12x Nargacuga+ Points
  • 42,000 Zenny

Deepest Night

  • Type: Long Sword
  • Attack: 180
  • Affinity: 40%

This sword is not only powerful in terms of raw damage, but it also has some of the most useful rampage skills in the game, including Attack Boost II and III. This makes it one of the best weapons in Monster Hunter Rise.

But the most interesting skill of the Deepest Night is the Master Rider. This ramp-up ability allows you to deal much more damage when riding a Wyvern.

This weapon can be unlocked by upgrading Hidden Saber I and II that can also be obtained from the Nargacuga monster.

Then, it can be crafted using the following recipe:

  • 2x Rakna-Kadaki Spike
  • 3x Nargacuga Fang+
  • 1x Narga Medulla
  • 10x Nargacuga+ Points
  • 42,000 Zenny

Monster Hunter Rise best Weapons: A-Tier

Mountain Blizzarioths

  • Type: Dual Blades
  • Attack: 180 (+20 Ice)
  • Affinity: 20%

This weapon has a huge speed of attack, which makes it very useful for dealing elemental damage; in this case, ice damage.

Making the list of best weapons in MHR, it has two excellent rampage skills: Affinity Boost II and Atack Boost IV. it also has the Iceblight ramp-up skill, which increases your damage significantly on the enemies that are affected by the Iceblight status effect.

Mountain Blizzarioths can be upgraded from Blizzarioths I and II, which can be obtained from Barioth at Frost Island.

It can be crafted using the following recipe:

  • 3x Goss Harag Fur
  • 3x Barioth Claw+
  • 1x Wyvern Gem
  • 12x Barioth+ Points
  • 39,000 Zenny

Undying Axe II

  • Type: Switch Axe
  • Attack: 210 (+20 Thunder)
  • Affinity: 15%

If you like your weapon to be a little more diverse in form, then a switch axe is a perfect choice. It can be used as either a sword for faster attacks or as an axe for a wider reach, making it one of the game’s best weapons.

The raw damage on Undying Axe II is really high, especially when you add 20 points of thunder damage to the mix. This is also one of the few weapons that actually benefits from green sharpness, which increases its damage even further with the help of the Dulling Strike skill.

Undying Axe II can be upgraded from Undying Axe I obtained from Rajang at the Shrine Ruins.

It can be crafted with the help of this recipe:

  • 4x Rajang Claw+
  • 2x Rajang Tail
  • 1x High Commendation
  • 45,000 Zenny

Monster hunter Rise Best Weapons: B-Tier

Biting Edge II

  • Type: Charge Blade
  • Attack: 160 (+31 Fire)
  • Affinity: 25%

If the switch axe isn’t complicated enough for you, then go for the charge blade weapon that in addition to sword and axe forms also provides you with a decent shield.

Biting Edge II has a very rare natural white sharpness and elemental fire damage. It also has Silkbind Boost skill that makes your Wirebug deal more damage.

This weapon is upgraded from Biting Edge I, which can be obtained by defeating the Rakna-Kadaki monster at Sandy Plains and Lava Caverns.

You can craft it with the help of the following recipe:

  • 2x Elder Dragon Blood
  • 4x Rakna-Kadaki Silk
  • 4x Rakna-Kadaki Carapace
  • 3x Monster Broth
  • 56,000 Zenny

Abominable Great Sword

  • Type: Great Sword
  • Attack: 230 (+20 Ice)
  • Affinity: -15%

Lastly, when it comes to sheer brutal raw power, then nothing comes close to the Abominable Great Sword that hits monsters like a truck.

This power weapon is imbued with ice damage and Brutal Strike ramp-up skill, which actually benefits from the negative affinity in this case. This seeming drawback makes this sword hit way harder than it should.

It can be unlocked by upgrading the Gossblade I and II swords, obtainable from the Goss Harag monster at Frost Islands.

The crafting recipe looks like this:

  • 2x Goss Harag Brace+
  • 2x Goss Harag Fur+
  • 1x Block of Ice+
  • 1x Goss Harag Bile
  • 42,000 Zenny
