Minecraft Skins: 2016 Superhero Edition

1 of 12

Minecraft has become a gaming sensation. It started off as just another sandbox indie game, and turned into one of the most popular video games ever made. With millions of active subscribers, there aren't many people out there who don't know about it.

Not unlike most popular games, Minecraft has quite a dedicated community, which comes up with tons of cool custom skins that can be played within the game. These range anywhere between sci-fi icons, movie villains, and famous characters, to completely random (but still awesome) skins that don't really resemble much of anything.

As a result, we've decided to highlight some of the most epic, badass, and crisp-looking superhero skins we've found out there. So without further ado, check out the top superhero skins available for Minecraft.

1. Superman

Our first skin is a classic; Superman himself! With the new Batman vs Superman movie having released recently, it's only natural for us to start the list with the man from Krypton.

This great-looking skin was created by adamJS98, and is definitely one of the cleanest looking skins out there. With so many fantastic Superman skins out there, it was hard picking just one, but this skin definitely captures the hero's looks the best. And of course, you can't have a superman skin without his signature look; the old underwear over the pants.

Overall though, this is a pretty awesome skin to play around in, especially when you're flying around and pretending to be Superman yourself. If you'd like to try it out, you can find the skin here.

2. Batman

Of course, we can't mention Batman vs Superman and not bring Batman into the mix, so our second pick is naturally the Caped Crusader. If only someone would create a remake of the movie in Minecraft...(I know someone out there has the skills to make this happen!)

This awesome skin was designed by Halucid, and looks absolutely stunning. The attention to detail is pretty impeccable, and the range of colors looks even better when you're in an actual game.

While not quite as fun to fly him around, the Batman skin is still a whole lot of fun to play in, especially if you're a massive fan like myself. If you like this skin, you can find it right here.

3. Captain America

Next up, we take a detour to the Avengers universe and check out Captain America. With Captain America: Civil War hitting theaters in just two weeks, it only makes sense to mention Glamorpants!

Another skin created by Halucid, it is by far the best depiction of the superhero in Minecraft skin format out there (trust us, we looked pretty darn hard!).

The skin is equally fun to play around with, especially if you like to pretend you're making massive leaps when flying around. My only real regret is that there's no shield to go with the iconic suit. If you'd like the chance to build some stuff in a Captain America costume, you'll want to check this skin out here.

4. Iron Man

Continuing on the theme of superhero rivalries, we have Tony Stark himself! With Iron Man being one of the most popular of the Avengers, if not the most popular, this choice was a no-brainer.

This stunning skin on was uploaded by an anonymous creator, which is a shame because I'd love to personally thank whoever made it. The skin looks just breathtaking, and is hands down the best Iron Man skin anywhere on the Internet. For anything. Ever!

With the enthusiasm done with, this skin is excruciatingly fun to play in, and makes for hours of fun Minecraft gameplay -- especially when you try to build cool robots and secret lairs. So if you'd like to try your hand at being a genius engineer, download the skin here.

5. Deadpool

A definite fan favorite, especially with the release of his recent movie, Deadpool is just all kinds of awesome. The perfect combination of funny and badass -- you really couldn't ask for more from a superhero.

This is yet another marvelous skin with an anonymous creator. The attention to detail is really something else, and the eyes are an absolute match for Deadpool's. Squinty and all.

I had quite a bit of fun running around in this skin, especially when I spawned some zombie mobs to play with! The iconic Deadpool skin is available for download right here.

6. Daredevil

With the new hit series by Netflix, Daredevil has become a well known name once again. The famed anti-hero, with his impressive martial arts, signature nunchucks and a thirst for justice, makes for a perfect Minecraft skin.

This skin is by far the best depiction of Daredevil in Minecraft available, and it's created by another anonymous contributor. So, if you'd like to impersonate the man without fear while building stuff, you'll want to go here.

7. Wonder Woman

Having mentioned Batman vs Superman, it's only fair that we also include Wonder Woman into the mix. The princess of Amazon, with her signature lasso, bracers, and belt, makes for an interesting Minecraft skin.

Despite the rarity of Wonder Woman skins out there, creator Crescendo has done a pretty good job pf capturing Princess Diana of Themyscira's looks.

As experiences go, it was quite strange building things as Wonder Woman, but it was still fun all the same. So if you'd like to Minecraft in the guise of the Amazonian princess, then download the skin from here.

8. Finn

While technically not a superhero, Finn is definitely iconic enough to be added to our list of superhero skins. If you have yet to watch the latest Star Wars movie (which is tantamount to a crime in the gaming world), Finn is the protagonist in the new series.

As with Wonder Woman however, there are very few decent Finn skins out there. However, we were lucky enough to find this one by Diamondman113. While not the most crisp of skins, it definitely does the job!

The best part though, is the fact that you can use this skin in conjunction with the Lightsabers Mod for Minecraft. This fantastic mod not only provides you with the ability to use the iconic crystal-powered sword, but also gives access to some cool telekinetic abilities. To check out the skin, go right over here.

9. Minion

Last, but not least, you can't have an entire article dedicated to Minecraft skins and not mention Minion! While obviously not an actual superhero, minions are awesome, so why not mention them?

This perfect looking skin was created by Xenat, and it makes for hours of enjoyable Minecrafting! So, get your very own Minion by going to this link!

If you liked all of the skins we had featured in this guide, then you're absolutely going to love Superwars! Superwars is a Minecraft plugin that lets you literally battle it out as an actual superhero, against other people, within a Minecraft game. What more could you wish for?

  • Create games by setting two corners, a lobby point, and some spawn points. The blocks will reset after each game.
  • Pick from a list of [more] than ten different heroes!
  • Each hero has special skills and weapons.

The games tend to get quite crazy, but it is definitely quite a bit of fun. To try it out, check out the Superwars page here, and if you need help setting it up, check out the extremely helpful tutorial by LtJim007 below.

To wrap things up, we've got this amazing video of 2200 Minecraft skins, in 4 minutes! The video by marinepower looks just sensational, and while some of the skins are alternates of the same character, others are quite unrecognizable, it is still very awesome. So enjoy!

On that note, we hope you enjoyed this list of Minecraft Superhero skins! If you decide to try some of these skins out, let us know what you think about them in the comments sections below.
