Weekly Weekend Round-Up: Dec 19th-21st

Games to pass the time as we wait for one of the biggest holiday seasons of the year.

Another week has gone by and now we are approaching the end of the year. It seems strange to think that this year has gone by so fast, but even while we look back at the year, there is still a weekend ahead of us, and we will need to pass some time. As has been the case for the past couple weeks, new releases have been a bit light. There are old games and one new one on this list to take your weekend away.

Ryse:  Son of Rome

Although Ryse: Son of Rome was an Xbox One lauch title, this game was amazing. It was actually the first game I played through on my X1, despite having many others. Due to the old nature of the game, it has seen some dramatic price drops and can be bought for a decent price. This is one of many old games to take a look into if you are looking to kill a weekend for a cheap buck.

Super Meat Boy

Super Meat Boy seemed to be a hit out of nowhere. This game is one of my favorite indie games from last gen. Super Meat Boy went on sale earlier this week for Steam users, which is why it has made mention on this list. Even if you are not a Steam user, this game is something special. If you find yourself playing this game over the weekend, remember to keep your cool, as it is sure to test your patience.

Guilty Gear Xrd

This  newest installment of Guilty Gear is now here. This is available for PS4 and PS3 and is a full retail launch priced at the normal price. Guilty Gear Xrd is a fighting game, so it is a very niche game. Unless you are a fan of fighting games, this could only keep you entertained for a couple of hours. But looking at a fighting game for what it is, this game could have you entertained for hours (or months), depending on your preference.

I may end up booting up Super Meat Boy, as I do every now and again, but other than that I will not be joining in on the others. I will be putting some more time into Mordor and Destiny. What games will you be playing this weekend? Comment below.
