Ghost of Tsushima Legends Update to Add New Game+, Co Op Multiplayer

Ghost of Tsushima's new mode update brings New Game+ enhancements for the single-player mode and a new horsey friend for Jin.

Sucker Punch announced Ghost of Tsushima Legends will release October 16 as part of the game’s version 1.1 patch. The update will also bring a number of New Game+ enhancements to Ghost of Tsushima‘s single-player campaign.

Legends adds multiplayer co-op missions and new characters classes in a story steeped in Japanese mythology. We covered Legends in more detail before, but the gist of it is these tales unfold across missions for teams of two and four players.

How to unlock Ghost of Tsushima Legends is a bit different. After downloading the 1.1 patch, players must go to the PlayStation Store and download the free Ghost of Tsushima Legends unlock. It’s presented as a set of stories told by Tsushima’s resident storyteller Gyozen, so players need to talk to him to get things started.

Ghost of Tsushima 1.1 adds a New Game+ feature to the main game, with a number of bonuses and a new equine neigh-bor.

Gear, Vanity Items, and Techniques carry over from your previous save file. The difficulty increases (though is still adjustable), Jin can use new Charms in battle, and New Game+ adds new armor and weapons upgrades. Jin gets a new red-maned horse friend to travel about with too.

Ghost of Tsushima‘s New Game+ introduces a new flower exclusive to NG+: Ghost Flowers. Jin can trade these with the Ghost Flower Merchant for new vanity and dye options that Sucker Punch says are more elaborate than those in the first playthrough.

It’s as good an excuse as any to play through what we called an “an amazing open-world experience [with] satisfying combat” all over again.
