Game Freak Releases New Game "Giga Wrecker" On Steam Early Access

The Pokémon developer has released a new 2D Platformer on Steam Early Access about a cyborg solving puzzles and fighting robots.

Game Freak, the developer best know for the main series Pokémon titles, released their new 2D Platformer Giga Wrecker on Steam Early access just last week. Game Freak claims that they are taking the Early Access approach with Giga Wrecker in order to "...get involved with the community, receive valuable feedback and continue our development at the same time.”

Giga Wrecker's release marks the second game released on Steam by Game Freak -- following in the steps of their first venture into PC gaming Tembo the Badass Elephant, which was released on Steam in July of last year.

Giga Wrecker is a 2D Action/Puzzle Platformer wherein the player controls a young cyborg girl with a powerful shapeshifting arm, as she attempts to fight back against a mysterious robot army that has invaded the world. The gameplay revolves mostly around combat involving a number of different weapons in addition to puzzles involving these same weapons as well as a physics engine.

I'm just your average basement-dwelling eclectic and eccentric video gamer who does his best to make a point, share experiences, and talk to people without swallowing his own tongue. I'm mostly into Platformers and RPG's, but I'll try pretty much anything once, and I'm also trying to find something different and interesting to play, and then share with as many people as I can. I can also beat the entire first world in Super Meat Boy while wearing oven mitts.
