Star Wars Trailers That Had More Bang Than The Prequels

Star Wars: The Old Republic - "Hope" Cinematic Trailer

I saw this trailer as an attempt to deliver the idea that an unnamed trooper could go toe to toe with a Dark Jedi. Fearless, tough, and creative describe the one Republic trooper that charged right into battle without thinking twice that he might be outmatched by someone that could use the Force. Come to find out, it was the female Jedi coming to save the day that upped the ante.

Did you see that part where she stopped the lightsaber with her hand? Perhaps Luke could have used that trick once...

STAR WARS™: The Old Republic™ - 'Deceived' Cinematic Trailer

Deceived is a trailer that pushes the limit of using slow motion, but it is often well timed; barely dodging a lightsaber, or the lightsaber hitting the floor as a Jedi Master loses his battle.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed Trailer

While the previous two trailers were enjoyable, there hasn't been a Star Wars trailer that really made you just ask, "What the hell?," until this one. We've seen what Jedi could do in the movies, pulling a Star Destroyer right out of the sky was not on the list of things we thought they could do. The power level in the Star Wars universe took a strong turn to the upside with this trailer. The force powers in the movies just seem lame after this one.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II - Official E3 Trailer [HD]

The trailer for the second Force Unleashed did several things for us. We were shown that Vader's apprentice still lived and that stormtroopers can still be colossal idiots when given simple tasks. Then again, what could you do if a Jedi can just roast the whole room, in every literal sense?

The concept of clones just isn't used well enough in the prequels. Instead of claiming Palpatine was using some age-old unknown Force trick to hide his true self that even Yoda never saw before, why not just use a clone? Then Darth Sidious could run around without even having to share the same Senate as that awful Jar-Jar.

Star Wars 1313 Gameplay Trailer

I know it's sad that we will never see what was set to be a likely masterpiece Coruscant underworld lore. The trailer starts off with music that sounds like a cop drama movie. Who wouldn't be excited about a Star Wars game where it wasn't just shooting lasers and swinging lightsabers. Except, we all know we want to swing lightsabers.

Star Wars Republic Commando: Trailer 1

Republic Commando gave more life to the clone troopers than any of the movies and only fell short of the story telling from the Clone Wars TV series. It also proved to be a solid game while proving to us that if you give a trooper a name, he can actually hit his target. When is Republic Commando 2 coming anyway?

Star Wars: Battlefront 3 - Official E3 Teaser Trailer "Star Wars: Battlefront"

I honestly couldn't tell you if this game was even happening any more, but this teaser pretty much looks like a poor schmuck lost his way and has to dodge wayward speeders and AT-AT feet in the battle of Hoth.

STAR WARS™: The Old Republic™ - 'Return' Cinematic Trailer

I think the real point here is that EA and Bioware should have made our Star Wars movies. Between all the trailers here there is no lack of smuggler bravado, bounty hunters, lightsaber duels, and the more noble Jedi deaths than we've seen in all the movies. Ok, don't count all the ones from Episode III.
