PopCap Games Supports Free Content for Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare

PopCap's continuous support for their games is what very few developers have done before.

PopCap Games released Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare on February 25, 2014 with limited game modes and maps. Since then, they have added new elements through updates and new DLC for the indisputable price of free. Yes that’s right, FREE.

PopCap Games added a myriad of features, including new plants for Garden Ops mode, zombies for Gardens & Graveyards, brand new characters to the already robust cast, and new game modes and maps. They are also constantly tweaking and balancing the game for the added benefit of the player. Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare looked as though it was going to be riddled with microtransactions, but, fortunately, they veered off that road. PopCap Games definitely shows that they support their games and care about the people who play them.

In today’s gaming world, many developers seem to release unfinished games so that they can later push out DLC to the player for an additional fee. As the years go by, the monetization involving video games is growing, but if developers continue to support their games with constant updates it will not go unnoticed. Players will see that they made a game with the intention for people to have fun and not solely to make a quick buck.
