Crash Bandicoot 4 Will Not Include Any Microtransactions

Earlier this week, we reported that Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time could have microtransactions. We now know that it won’t.

Developer Toys for Bob took to Twitter on Tuesday to confirm that the long-awaited sequel to the Crash Bandicoot trilogy won’t require players to pay for extra content such as skins.

Though there’s been no word on future content for the game (it was just announced after all), it’s conceivable that Activision and Toys for Bob could release subsequent DLC packs for Crash 4 that wouldn’t be free. But, of course, that’s to be expected for such add-on content.

The initial confusion surrounding the existence of micros in It’s About Time came from a Microsoft Store listing that included a “+” symbol next to the game’s price, which typically indicates a game contains microtransactions. Several sites, including IGN and VG24/7, first reported the news.

As of this writing, the “+” symbol is still next to the game’s price on the Microsoft Store, along with the text: “offers in-app purchases.”

Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time is set to release for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on October 2 for $59.99. Stay tuned to GameSkinny for more on the marsupial’s next adventure, including if micros actually make it into the game. Until then, check out some brand-new gameplay
