Lush environments, a brilliant central conceit and exceptional localisation make this game a real treat, and easily the best title I played in 2014. Magical.
The new combat system promises so much more than it actually manages to deliver, which, coupled with genuinely frustrating puzzles and a distinct lack of what made the series great, drags down a game that had some real potential. It had to happen eventually.
This could've been an epic title in the ways the original wasn't. Sadly, that's not the case.
