Square Enix and Sony Pictures Home Entertainment announced in a press release that Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy VX will be premiering at an unnamed West End theater ahead of its digital release. Kingsglaive is currently scheduled for a digital release of August 30, 2016, roughly a month before the release of Final Fantasy XV. Dedicated fans and London residents can watch the state-of-the-art CG animated film August 23, 2016 in the West End theater. This comes after news of the movie premiering in select US theaters beginning August 19, 2016.

Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV tells a story that will deepen and further develop the elaborate plot of Final Fantasy XV, which launches on consoles September 30, 2016. The film features talented voice work by acclaimed actors Aaron Paul, Lena Headey, and Sean Bean. Takeshi Nozue, the director of the film, is reported to be attending the premiere alongside other members of the Kingsglaive cast and crew.

The movie tells the story of the ruler of the Kingdom of Lucis, King Regis Lucis Caelum CXIII (Sean Bean), attempting to save the city of Insomnia from the fearsome Niflheim Empire. He is not alone in his endeavors, aided by his elite soldiers known as the Kingsglaive, which is led by Nyx Ulric (Aaron Paul). Under the intense weight of the empire’s attack the king is forced into arranging a marriage between his son, Prince Noctis, and a Niflheim captive, Princess Lunafreya of Tenebrae (Lena Headey). Faced with this plight, only the Kingsglaive remain to halt the empire in their advance towards total world domination.

Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV is directed by Takeshi Nozue using a screenplay written by Takashi Hasegawa.   produced by Larry Sparks, Shinji Hashimoto, Kosei Ito, and Hajime Tabata. The film has an approximate run time of 110 minutes and is rated PG-13 in North America and 12 in Europe for fantasy violence and action. It will be available digitally on August 30, 2016, worldwide.

Final Fantasy XV will be available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One beginning September 30, 2016.
