Animal Crossing: New Horizons Balloon Glitch Fixed with Another Patch

Hot on the heels of yesterday's patch, we get another New Horizons patch addressing a big Bunny Day problem.

Nintendo just released Animal Crossing: New Horizons patch 1.1.2a yesterday, fixing a number of glitches and issues that could prevent players from progressing in the game. Today, another new patch goes live, fixing an issue that only started getting attention a couple of days ago: the New Horizons balloon glitch.

Some folks reported issues after reaching the “pop 300 balloons” Nook Miles milestone in the latest Animal Crossing game. Once they collected the miles, balloons stopped appearing — at all. The problem there is you need balloons to get Sky Eggs and craft all Zipper T. Bunny’s Bunny Day DIY recipes.

New Horizons patch 1.1.3a fixes the issue, but we’re still not really sure how it came about to begin with. The patch notes (thank you, Nintendo Life) just say “Fixed a bug where balloons would not fly under certain conditions.” Presumably it was related to the Nook Miles milestone, though the Animal Crossing Reddit community was divided over that. It apparently affected some, but not others.

Either way, it should be fixed now. Gather Sky Eggs to your heart’s content.
