Version 1.1, also known as “Foundation Update,” implements three game modes, base building, save points (which the player can access at any time) and new alien tech. Moreover, the update also features several smaller additions and tweaks to the main game.

Hello Games has also released a video on YouTube (above) displaying the most significant changes the update will deliver.

For more details, you can check the update’s page on the website of the game.

The release of the updated meant so much to the Hello Games team that it warranted a tweet from Sean Murray, the long-silent lead designer of the project.

This is the first time the lead designer tweeted about the game since it was released on August 18.

The developers claim that this is the first of many updates to come. As of this writing, the “Foundation Update” was not yet live for PC players.
