This article is over 8 years old and may contain outdated information

Last week’s post gave you the hardware. Today’s post will give you the must-have games for your Super Nintendo. The best SNES games don’t come cheap, but these tried and true titles are worth it. Part one of this series includes games that can be bought for under $50.

Donkey Kong Country

Donkey Kong Country$21.25 and up (used)

Really, all three of the Donkey Kong Country games for SNES were good. Do yourself a favor and snag a used copy.

Super Mario World

Super Mario World$19.98 and up (used)

Classic Mario. Get all the Yoshis (winged blue yoshi is best yoshi). Go to the Star World. Find the secret endings to each level.

Super Mario All Star

Meta Mario! Play multiple Mario games in one cartridge. This includes Super Mario Bros 2, which isn’t in the Mario franchise at all in Japan, but instead is a game called Yume Kōjō: Doki Doki Panic. While new versions of the game come up at $240, there are plenty of used copies ranging from $24 and up.

Super Mario Kart

Definitely one of the best Mario Karts out there. The only comparable Mario Kart might have been Mario Kart 64. (I’m not at all biased) Used copies of the game can be had from $34 and up.

Stay tuned for Part 2: Best retro gaming buys for SNES under $100!
