Beautiful Minecraft Texture Packs

If you haven't played Minecraft yet because you don't like its graphics then please understand that Minecraft can be altered and played in better graphics. Get inspired by these texture packs and start playing today!
This article is over 11 years old and may contain outdated information

Minecraft isn’t popular because of its amazing graphics. It’s popular because of its unique touch to gaming and what can be created within a game just using your creativity. Some people disregard Minecraft because they are used to high definition graphics and maybe you are one of those people. I wouldn’t say it’s wrong because for some people graphics are important, and for others it’s not. It has probably a lot to do with what you are used to in the past.

Because of this slight problem with the game I’ve created a collection of some beautiful texture packs which will make it look way better than before. Some of the packs are realistic while others are just more colorful and less pixelated as the default texture pack. Hopefully this will inspire you to try this game out and find the beauty with a unique game like Minecraft.

oCd Texture Pack

The first and the one I like the most is the oCd texture pack. oCd is a simplistic texture pack with sharp edges and slick texture patterns. The only downside with the pack I can think of is the water. It looks a little bit too much as the water seen in the default texture pack. But other than that this totally upgrades the Minecraft graphics to a whole new level. Colors are carefully chosen and it’s obvious the creator of this pack is talented and knows what he’s doing.

Sphax PureBDcraft

The second one we will have a look at is Sphax PureBDcraft. This one is quite different in style from the oCd pack. It’s a little bit more cartoonish and playful. It feels like you are playing a game like Zelda on Gamecube with softer and more clean colors.

 Urbancraft

The third and last texture pack I’ll show to you is a way more realistic texture pack than the ones above. This one is called Urbancraft. As you can see on the image below it’s almost as if the picture was taken in real life. It was created for a huge city which a group of people were creating to make it look like a city in real life and which was later released to the public. This pack is perfect to use if you also want to create a city with a more realistic tone to it.

Got inspired?

If you did, that’s great. If you haven’t found these texture packs awesome enough I recommend you to visit a texture pack site like Minepacks and find a texture pack which inspires you and makes you want to play the game. Maybe you are a manga fan or want more medieval textures? No matter which category you like there’s a pack for you.

Minecraft is after all a game with millions of active players and a percentage of these people love creating texture packs. This means there’s a quite good chance some texture pack out there suit your needs.
