This marks a big change for the console-only release precedent for the Metal Gear Solid series. apart from the 2013 (was out at the beginning of 2014 for PC) spin-off Metal Gear Rising Revengance, the series has not seen a Windows game since 2001 with Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty. The series has only had one other Windows release with Metal Gear Solid in 1998.

Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeros is due out on December 18th for PC and is already out for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3 and PS4.
