I am excited to join the GameSkinny community as a contributor. I am a blogger and author and write often about video games. Although I had never been a gamer, I wound up with two sons who are heavily into video games. So I figured if you can’t beat them, join them.
That is actually my philosophy of staying close to my sons, and what inspired me to write my blog, Connect with your Teens through Pop Culture and Technology. My goal is to help other parents keep up-to-date with teens’ interests so that they can stay relevant and better bond with their kids. In addition to video games I write about movies, TV, books, music, education, gadgets, social media and the Internet.
Last year I published, The Gamer Generation: Reaping the Benefits of Video Games. The book is a compilation of all the research available on the various benefits of gaming. The types of benefits covered are social, physical and health, cognitive, educational, business and family plus chapters on serious games and rebuttals to the video games cause violence arguments.
I am looking forward to reading the working of the other contributors on GameSkinny and hopefully getting to know both the contributors and readers of this wonderful gaming site. You should begin seeing my articles soon.
