Our Favorite World of Warcraft Mounts

Let us reminisce on some of our favorite all time WoW mounts!
This article is over 11 years old and may contain outdated information

I played WoW all through Vanilla and Burning Crusade, only to give up in the early stages of Cataclysm. Through these expansions I remember a very wide variety of mounts you could attain, and there were definitely some that I loved more than others.

Keep in mind that these exclude Mists of Pandaria mounts as I haven’t played it.

The first mount I ever bought: Cobalt War Talbuk

Let me just say that once I hit Exalted with the Maghar, I was all over this baby. Just look at how classy, yet badass it is. This is absolutely my first choice for land mounts, as I wasn’t yet leveled enough to get a flying mount. I only received two other land mounts (I loved this one way too much to abandon it for another).

Black War Bear

I mean, just look at him. He’s even got a bear-butt saddle. What’s not to love? He was my first achievement mount and I was pretty damn proud of myself. For imaginary achievements that mean nothing in my real life.

And Finally… The Headless Horseman’s Mount

This one was a treat to get. My first ever Holiday mount (I even looted it fair and square). This was also my second flying mount.

Bronze Drake

One of the easiest flying mounts to get, and my first (I hated the wind riders with a passion and therefore refused to ever get one). I remember that feeling of intense pressure, trying to get through Stratholme in under 25 minutes. There was a lot of yelling involved as my friends and I tried to run through it as quickly as possible.

The One That Got Away

My boyfriend looted this on our first run through Sethekk Halls. I ran it for months after and never got it. I totally didn’t cry when we quit playing WoW and I was still Raven-Lordless.
