Out of Darkness Prototype Gameplay

We got an email alerting us to a new game that is in the prototype phase called Out of Darkness. Upon visiting the site I was immediately impressed with the art style and decided to do a quick gameplay video of the prototype level. This game is far from done, and the game may never be done since it is very much an indie project–and the developer is still looking for a path to funding.

For something like this to take off, you need something that grabs people, and I think the art style in the prototype may just be that hook. The game clearly needs “more game” and the music needs to be less repetitive and more even, but that is the nature of prototypes. If you like old school platformers with modern graphical styling, and you like to support indie projects, then you should visit Out of Darkness at its development page and encourage the developer to continue.
