The Ouya Has Been Nominated For Best Gaming Innovation In The 2013 Dragon Slayer Awards
This article is over 10 years old and may contain outdated information

The Ouya has been nominated for an award in the Best Gaming Innovation category at the Dragon Slayer Awards. There is a lot of tough competition but the Ouya has definitely earned its place. The Ouya is an all new gaming console, and for me one of its best points is that every game is completely free to try out.

The Ouya has a lot of games already and more are coming in every day–right now it is sitting at 320 games. They even urge you to become a game maker by releasing their tools completely free, so if you have had a game idea stuck in your head for years it can finally come out. Ouya also has a program that has set aside 1 million bucks to help turn your ideas into a game.

We’ve set aside one million bucks to turn your ideas into a reality. It’s our way of giving back to the platform that helped us make Ouya a reality and to rewrite the “rules” of how a game console is brought to market. Kickstarter was our beginning-here’s hoping it’s yours too.

The Ouya is not just for games–you can stream your favorite movies, music, and tv shows. On top of everything it is the first totally open video game console. They even urge you to open it up and have a look around.

If you have the Ouya fever you can grab one today off of their website, and with a $99 price tag it is hard to pass up. Don’t forget to head on over to Guild Launch’s Dragon Slayer Awards page to cast your vote for your favorite gaming innovation, and make sure to check out the several other categories. Voting started on July 1st and runs until September 2nd so make sure to cast your votes now.
