That being said, the schedule was posted last week, and after some serious studying, I’ve picked out some of my favorite events that I’ve deemed as unmissable. We’ll take it by day!

Friday, March 22 (10AM-10:30PM)

  • We’ll start the day off with the Ask Us Anything from some of the most popular up-and-coming Indie devs such as Tripwire Interactive and Digital Roar, beginning at 10 AM in the Sphinx.
  • In the Naga Theatre at the same time, Blizzard Entertainment will be making their big announcement, hopefully introducing a new game–and not just moving a rather unpopular title to a new console.
  • Following the Blizz announcement in the Naga Theather, the talent behind Tomb Raider will be hosting a panel where we’ll get to meet some of the brains behind the high-quality reboot at 11:30.
  • In the Merman Theater at 11:30, there will be a panel discussing the effects of game development and design on education.
  • Capcom will be hosting a panel in the Phoenix Theater at 12 PM sharp to talk about their upcoming titles.
  • At 1 PM in the Naga Theather, there will be a Final Fantasy panel to talk about the upcoming release of Final Fnatasy XIV.
  • At 2 PM in the Wyvern Theater, there will be a panel on how Internet culture can help those with depression and anxiety, specifically how interaction through video games can become meaningful.
  • At 2:30 PM brings on the advantages of going with an Indie game–mainly the lack of a huge publisher looking over the dev’s shoulder. Hang out in the Merman Theater for this panel on storyline in Indie games.
  • At 3 PM in the Corgi Theater, there will be a panel held on the experiences of transgender people in the gaming world.
  • At 3:30 in the Wyvern, there will be a panel on how game design is used in education and rehabilitation.
  • In the Sphinx at 4 PM, there will be a panel on how video games addiction can (and does) help those suffering from mental illness such as PTSD.
  • At 5 PM in the Wyvern, there will be a panel on how user-generated content, community and e-Sports are shaping the way we all play and perceive games.
  • At 6 PM there will be a panel on why RPGs are awesome in the Corgi Theater.
  • In the Merman at 7 PM, there will be a panel on Retro Games We Want To Love, directed at those who find it hard to mesh with classic games that others seem to worship.
  • At 8 PM the Indie Showcase will be starting in the Wyvern!
  • At 8:30, the Friday Night concern begins.
  • Game Show Night: Family Feud & Jeopardy will begin at 9:30 and run until 10:30.

These are just some of the events we’re stoked about, and we will definitely be present at most of them–so please feel free to come up and say hi! You’ll see any GameSkinny lover/editor/dev in a GameSkinny t-shirt. Feel free to stop by our booth and post what’s going on at PAX and get your own GameSkinny swag!
