Penny Arcade has made their decisions on THE BEST indie games, and that list is called The PAX 10. Every year, Penny Arcade gathers a group of 50 industry experts and selects the 10 best indie games that they believe provide great gameplay with an awesome fun-factor. With well over 100 submissions every year, the competition is tough. But they’ve finally come to their decisions.
In order for these developers to climb through the ranks, they’ve got to impress and work hard at what they create. Nobody ever fails, but some succeed. Today we’re going to be going over one of them that have succeeded however. That developer goes by the name of Frogmind, and even for a two-man indie studio, they have created an absolutely stunning game that is only available for iOS devices.
So without further ado, I present to you, BADLAND. An award-winning atmospheric side-scrolling action adventure title that forces you to think on your toes while you navigate through the levels. It takes place in fairytale-like forest yet there’s something amiss.
In the game, the player takes control of one of the forest’s inhabitants to figure out what’s wrong in their home. As you navigate through the levels you’ll face obstacles that can destroy your flying inhabitant. So let’s show you a quick gameplay video of what it’s like to control your flying friends.
As you can see through the gameplay it seems quite easy, however each level continues to get much more difficult and that much more immersive. You will experience over 50 unique levels that include local multiplayer for up to four people playing with the same device.
With millions of players already trying this game out, it’s no wonder that they’ve made it to The PAX 10.
